This is a detached villa, corner position in a quiet gated community near Kalasin City centre. Kalasin is one hour drive from Khon Kaen airport and is a friendly small city and starting to become popular with foreigners. The cost of living is probably the cheapest in Thailand. The villa is about 15 years old built with solid construction with beautiful ceramic roof tiles. The property is within walking distance of the city centre, schools, bus station, hospital, dentists, restaurants, all major supermarkets, a plaza, cinema, outdoor entertainment centre, day and night markets etc. You will find everything on your door step. I lived there for 3 years and found it too quiet but when I go back I am surprised of how much it has changed with a lot more foreigners relocating. I also found it to be a sincere and honest place with hard working local people who always have a genuine smile and very welcoming. There is a river a few hundred meters from the villa which is ideal for evening walks. For exercise there is a small park (with gym) where all the locals walk around a big pond each evening. There is also a man made beach about 30 minutes drive away called Docket Beach. It very pleasant and the views of the enormous reservoir is beautiful (great outdoor restaurants serving fresh giant shrimp in tamarind/chilli sauce ). If you have kids they are going to love the Jurassic themes in Kalasin and the famous Dinosaur Museum nearby (built on the site where dinosaur bones were discovered 50 years ago). This is a great day out. There is a huge hotel near the villa called Rimpao and it has one of the biggest pools in Thailand. The deep end is about 4 meters ! Its a great place to relax with a cold beer after a swim. I live in BKK but have fond memories of the house and Kalasin, Warning: Kalasin gets very hot in hot season! If you are looking for something big and private and peaceful, look no further, There is space in the garden for a pool and if you want more privacy you could plant some hedges which would look nice. The service fees are very cheap at 150 baht per month. The community are amazing and I recall the villages parties, free food, drink and live music - what more do you want? Its a good problem free life and buying is not going to break the bank. If you have a Thai partner then its easy to buy, If you are a foreigner and want to protect yourself I will transfer my Thai company and house to you, but get a lawyer to do the paperwork. I have a tenant so only serious customers who can prove they have funds will be allowed to view, I respect my tenant's privacy and don't want curious window shoppers. So do not be offended if I ask you to prove you have 4 million baht available now. If not please do not enquire. In conclusion, beautiful solid villa, great location, ideal for those wanting to have a simple, peaceful life surrounded by nice and warm people. Must have funds already sorted to view.
