Anuphong Assavabhokhin (left), chief executive of AP Thailand, and Yong Chul Jo, president of Thai Samsung Electronics, have teamed up to launch 'AP Intelligent Living'.
In a bid to strengthen its lead in advanced digital living, SET-listed developer AP Thailand Plc has partnered with Thai Samsung Electronics, the local unit of the South Korean smartphone maker, to launch "AP Intelligent Living".
"The ultimate in living innovation that integrates Samsung's advanced technology with smart devices on the Internet of Things (IoT) platform, AP Intelligent Living will ensure homeowners the highest level of convenience and safety," said Anuphong Assavabhokhin, AP Thailand's chief executive.
Mr Anuphong said AP sought a partner whose strength lies in urban living technology to set up an intelligent home system in all areas of the house. AP's Baan Klang Muang CLASSE will serve as the partnership's pilot project.
AP claims to be the first company in the real estate sector to integrate the Alexa voice service (the voice of Amazon's Echo device) with an intelligent computer system to allow voice-enabled control of home appliances and jointly process data and intra-communication.
The intelligent home system also entails a higher level of anticipation in response to the homeowner's needs.
"AP distinguishes itself with its innovative approach to urban living," Mr Anuphong said. "Our partnership with Samsung is a further step in our industry development based on AP's Digital Community vision, which calls for the integration of all advances in technology, be it the IoT platform or digital innovations to improve the living quality of AP customers."
"The home should be able to take care of every family member in terms of convenience and safety," said Boonlerd Viboonkiat, vice-president of enterprise business for appliances and IT at Thai Samsung Electronics.
"Samsung has integrated the IoT platform for the interconnected wireless functioning of different appliances," he said. "By having all appliances permanently connected, communication between home appliances and devices will make it possible to meet the lifestyle needs of residents."
The company has taken a further step by making the features of its products consistent with the behaviour and lifestyle of each resident.
"The partnership with AP Thailand, in conjunction with Samsung's IoT platform, should revolutionise the way people live," Mr Boonlerd said.
AP has extended the concept of AP Intelligent Living to Rhythm Sathorn, its only ready-to-move-in high-end condominium project on Sathon Road overlooking the Chao Phraya River.
"Life is made more convenient when air-conditioning and lighting controls, as well as other appliances, are connected to the AP Intelligent Living system at the touch of a button," Mr Anuphong said.
"To build on our shared vision of the 'AP Digital Community', Samsung and AP Thailand plan to further develop lifestyle comforts through advanced technology. AP's expertise lies in developing innovative residences, while Samsung's lies in its technology, which complements the modern lifestyle of the new generation."
